Tips on Using Accent Chairs

Accent Chairs

People who are not professional interior designers may not know about accent chairs. These types of chairs add some interest, texture, and shape to any room. If you’ve never shopped for an accent chair, here are some tips to help you.

First, try to conside        r space. If you have a large living room, then you have have room for two or three accent chairs. If you have a smaller room, then usually one of these chairs will be enough. The idea is to have enough seating for people in the home, but also have enough space to navigate comfortably around the room.

Next, you’ll have to consider the type of chair itself. It should somehow match your décor, but since it is for accent, it should somehow stand out a little bit. If you have a somewhat muted and understated color palette, a nice bold chair would do well, and of course, the opposite would be true as well. Also, the chair should be (somewhat) comfortable. It shouldn’t be too low or too high what people can’t sit in it.

Finally, consider using these chairs to create separate spaces. For example, you can place a cozy chair and ottoman in a corner with a floor lamp to create a nice reading nook.
